The Bob Pinedo Cancer Care Award presents an award to people who have combined clinical care and scientific research in exceptional ways to significantly improve the treatment and lives of cancer patients. The award is named after Professor Bob Pinedo, a renowned Dutch oncologist known worldwide for his pioneering work in cancer research and treatment. Romo Foundation has committed to this award as a donor.

The award is named Professor H.M. (Bob) Pinedo, a leading Dutch oncologist and professor emeritus at the VU Medical Center. He founded the VUmc Cancer Center Amsterdam and was known for his integration of patient care and scientific research.
